About Pierce
Pierce O’Brien is the named technician behind every appointment—a careful listener who treats tuning as part of a larger relationship between the piano, the player, and the room.
Book With Pierce

A career that began with one piano.
Pierce’s path into piano technology began when a choir member gave him a baby grand. He refurbished and reconditioned the instrument, learned the fundamentals of tuning, and used that experience as a starting point for deeper study and a career in piano care.
Today, the work is still grounded in the same instinct: listen closely, understand the instrument in front of you, and explain what matters without making the owner feel out of their depth.
Quiet confidence, visible in the process.
Quality is communicated through assessment, careful work, honest limits, and useful next steps—not comparison or hype.
Precise
Specific about what is being heard, assessed, and addressed.
Observant
Attentive to pitch, touch, tone, condition, and the player’s goals.
Approachable
Plain language and respect for any piano that matters to its owner.
A record of continued study.
This owner-supplied photograph records Pierce at the 2026 Piano Technicians Guild convention. Exact public credential wording remains absent from the site facts and copy until the owner approves it.

The value of a piano is not limited to its price. A family’s first upright deserves the same honest attention as a performance grand.
